The Old School was built in 1841 and is a Grade 2 listed family home situated in the pretty village of Holmbridge, in the Holme valley. The holiday home is a self contained annex within the school with its own private entrance. On the photograph it is behind the three windows to the right of the main door, with its entrance on the far right hand side. It consists of large hallway, well equipped dining kitchen, large lounge, modern bathroom and double bedroom. It sleeps two adults plus has the option for another two on a sofa bed in the lounge. Services include: Gas coal effect fire, GFCH. All fuel & power. TV with freeview, DVD player, Elec cooker, fridge, M/wave, shower and bath. Travel cot available upon request, Parking space in front of house and use of garden furniture and garden, including the school playground!. Non-smokers only. Saturday to Saturday bookings.
The Old School is perfectly situated within the Holme valley to enjoy its many attractions and those of the surrounding areas. "Last of the Summer Wine" is filmed here and "Where the Heart is" is filmed in the adjacent Colne valley. The house is just over a mile from Holmfirth town centre with many restaurants, tea rooms, craft shops, pubs and a cinema. Whether you are a rambler, runner, fell walker, hiker, bird watcher, film buff, or a shopper there is plenty to do.
